Bio

Lexi is an R&B and soul singer-songwriter from Chicago. From an early age, her evocative and powerful voice, combined with charismatic yet real energy and multidimensional musical talent, has caught the attention of music industry leaders, landing her on stages and records and fostering her passion for writing music and singing from the heart.

Before attending Berklee College of Music in Boston, Lexi was a member of the Chicago Children’s Choir, which gave her the opportunity to travel internationally and perform with world renowned artists such as Baby Face, Al Green, Kurt Elling, Boyz II Men, Jamilah Woods, Nicole Cabell and others. A few highlights include performing with Chance The Rapper on his winter 2020 Virtual Live Concert “Chi-Town Christmas”, with Theaster Gates for his “Black Chapel” project in Munich, Germany in 2019, and with Peter Cottontale for his Lollapalooza set in Chicago 2022. Since moving to London, Lexi’s gained a lot of traction in the UK by performing at venues such as The Troubadour, 93 Feet East, the Queen’s Head, The Piano Smithfield, at SoHo House, and at multiple Sofar Sounds and Breaking Sounds events. 

Important recordings include her popular singles “Just Breathe” (2021), “24 Hours” (2022), and “Options” (2023) and, most recently, her sophomore EP, “Unconditionally, Lexi” (December 2023).

The talented artist identifies as an activist for civil rights, gender equality and black culture, which she explores through her academic research. Lexi was featured on National Public Radio (NPR) for advocating Black Lives Matter in her songs and collaborating with young artists around the world on social justice campaigns. More recently, Lexi was a featured panelist for the ‘F-List’ Conference in London, speaking on Black Feminism and how that influences her music and artistry. 

Lexi currently resides in London where she recently finished her Master of Arts in Songwriting at the prestigious Institute of Contemporary Music Performance and is launching an international career as a performing artist.
